MARBEL coordinator presents the project at the European RTR Conference

The MARBEL project was presented during a session celebrated within the European Conference on Results from Road Transport Research (RTR Conference) taking place from 14th – 16th of February in Brussels (Belgium).

Eduard Piqueras, the project’s coordinator from Eurecat, participated in the session “Next generation of battery packs for BEV and PHEV”, which took place in the afternoon of the 15th of February. Piqueras introduced MARBEL as a key European project manufacturing the next generation of battery packs for the automotive mass-market and presented the expected outcomes of the project.

Additionally, the session also included the presentation of LIBERTYHELIOS and ALBATROSS, the other three projects taking part in the COLLABAT European cluster.

The session was moderated by Martha Gialampouki, project adviser from CINEA and the Project Officer of MARBEL, and Denise Tapler, Development Engineer Battery at AVL

The RTR Conference, which brought together around 400 experts in the road transport sector from all over Europe, was organised by the European Commission in collaboration with 2Zero, the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC) and the CCAM Association

Participants have been able to learn about Horizon2020 projects’ results and expected impacts, and what the next research steps are in essential areas for road transport: Green Vehicles, Urban Mobility, Logistics, Intelligent Transport Systems, Safety, Automated Road Transport. The conference delivered a holistic view of how the European research scene is moving forward in these fields, bringing benefits to the environment, economy, and European society overall.
