MARBEL presented during H2020 Battery Projects Cluster Workshop organised by CINEA

Eduard Piqueras, MARBEL project coordinator, and Alberto Gómez, technical coordinator, from Eurecat, have participated in the “H2020 Battery Projects Online Clustering Workshop”, organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) on November 17th and 18th.

The main objective of the workshop was to bring together European projects developing batteries and new battery systems, both in the energy and in the transport sector. The presentation was delivered by Eduard Piqueras and included an overview of MARBEL as a key European project working on the design, manufacturing and validation of the next generation of battery packs for the automotive mass-market. The presentation also included a brief description of the main vision and objectives of the project, as well as the consortium and the expected results.

More than 30 projects have been also presented during the workshop including TALENT, CoFBAT, COBRA, NAIMA, SeNSE, ALBATROSS, HELIOS, LIBERTY, SEABAT, SIMBA, iSTORMY, ASTRABAT, ECO2LIB, CompBat and SUBLIME, among others.

The workshop included several sessions, focusing on topics such as recycling, sustainability and LCA, business models, charging stations and grid connection, battery management systems, battery testing standardisation, novel chemistries for energy and transport applications and modelling and design.

CINEA plays a key role in supporting stakeholders in delivering the European Green Deal through the efficient and effective implementation of a high-quality programme management.
