The MARBEL project has been presented during the webinar ECOINNOVACIÓ: Innovar creant productes sostenibles”, organised by Eurecat on March 17th with the objective to discuss and show how to design more sustainable products for promoting a circular and decarbonised economy.

Alberto Gómez, project’s technical coordinator from Eurecat, delivered the presentation “Batteries sustainability” and took this opportunity to present MARBEL as a key European project focused on the manufacturing and assembly of modular and reusable Electric Vehicles batteries for an environment-friendly and lightweight mobility sector.

On the other hand, the presentation also included an explanation of the BATTECH initiative, a joint research and innovation flagship centre designed to cover the whole of Southern Europe’s battery ecosystem R&D&I. Created in collaboration with IREC and Eurecat, the centre encompasses research, development and innovation across the entire value chain of the next generation of electric cells and batteries for the electric mobility, renewable energy and capital goods markets.

The event, organised with the support of ACCIÓ – Catalonia Trade & Investment, was addressed specially to CEOs and managers of sustainability, innovation, R&D, design and operations from companies or start-ups interested in improving the sustainability of their products and services.
