MARBEL project presented at the KPMG and CIAC event on vehicle circularity
On September 17th, the MARBEL project was showcased at the event “Towards vehicle circularity: strategies and case studies in the automotive sector”, organised by CIAC – the Automotive Industry Cluster of Catalonia, together with KPMG.
José Jorge Espí, Head of the Sustainable Impact Line at Eurecat, and Alberto Gómez, Advanced engineering manager at Ficosa, represented MARBEL at the event presenting the project’s results and benefits of eco-design in batteries. Additionally, José Jorge Espí highlighted Eurecat’s eco-design methodology developed by Eurecat and digitally protected since 2022
The MARBEL battery offers an innovative solution to reduce the environmental footprint of electric vehicle batteries. By extending battery lifecycles and simplifying end-of-life processes, it actively supports the circular economy. Its development also plays a key role in accelerating the large-scale adoption of electric vehicles in the mass market.
The event aimed to address the main challenges and opportunities in the transition towards a more circular automotive sector. Going beyond electrification, the agenda explored battery eco-design, regulatory trends, and real-world initiatives already underway. It was a forum for reflection and inspiration, featuring leading voices in sustainability and industrial innovation.
