Eurecat presents the MARBEL project during a workshop on future mobility organised by SALEMA project
The MARBEL project was presented during the virtual workshop “Driving sustainable aluminium: recycling and critical raw materials for aluminium alloys in e-mobility” organised by the SALEMA project in collaboration with the European Aluminium Association and celebrated last 8th of November.
Sylvia Cruz and Manel da Silva, researchers from the Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit at Eurecat, participated in the session “Aluminium alloys and e-mobility: challenges and opportunities” explaining the experience gained within MARBEL in developing new partially recycled high-performance aluminium alloys for extruded lightweight battery pack.
The workshop was a great platform to explore and enhance synergies with other European projects and associations such as IPCEI Batteries.
SALEMA project, coordinated by Eurecat, proposes a circular economy model using scrap metal as an alternative source of CRM and the substitution of them for commonly available alloying elements.
