Eurecat pitches MARBEL at the MOVEM Event “Battery Innovation for Sustainable Mobility” organised by Cluster MAV
On March 27, the MARBEL project was featured at the MOVEM event “Battery Innovation for Sustainable Mobility”, organised by the Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia (MAV Cluster) in Martorell (Barcelona).
Sylvia Cruz, researcher at Eurecat’s Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit, presented MARBEL’s latest results, highlighting the main research done and advancements achieved in aluminium recycling for battery packs. The MARBEL project has developed a new battery concept for electric vehicles, integrating large-scale modular and eco-design principles.
Project partner Alberto Gómez, e-Mobility Advanced Engineering Leader at FICOSA, also took part in the event contributing to a roundtable discussion on next-generation battery technologies.
The event also featured the presentation of BATTECH, a joint research and innovation unit created by Eurecat and IREC. BATTECH plays a critical role in advancing the entire value chain of next-generation electric cells and batteries, with applications spanning electric mobility, renewable energy, and capital goods markets. Its mission is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world industrial applications, fostering innovation for a more sustainable future.
This event, held within the framework of MOVEM, the Alliance of Entities for Sustainable Mobility in Catalonia, served as a key platform to foster connections and discussions on cutting-edge battery innovation.
