Eurecat and IREC present MARBEL results at The Battery Show Europe
Partners from Eurecat, the MARBEL coordinator, and IREC took part in The Battery Show Europe, the leading European event for advanced battery and electric/hybrid vehicle technology, held from June 3 to 5 in Stuttgart, Germany.
At the BATTECH’s booth, partners showcased the MARBEL project’s innovative battery, a modular, lightweight, and reusable battery system designed for next-generation electric vehicles. This eco-designed prototype features higher energy density and faster charging capabilities while enabling easy assembly and disassembly. These design principles not only enhance performance and competitiveness, but also improve the efficiency of battery maintenance, recycling, and reuse.
The MARBEL battery presents a solution that reduces the environmental impact of EV batteries and supports the circular economy by extending battery life cycles and simplifying end-of-life processes. Its development contributes directly to accelerating the large-scale adoption of electric vehicles in the mass market.
The BATTECH initiative, a joint research and innovation unit designed between IREC and Eurecat, serves as a dedicated research and innovation hub for the battery ecosystem in Southern Europe. It addresses the entire value chain of advanced electric cells and batteries, with a strong focus on challenges such as second-life applications and battery recycling.
